MICnuggets: Something To Chew On

December 5, 2012 / in General Information / by

Mic Johnson, Blue GurusRecently I was reading an email newsletter from Shawn Kinkade, President of Aspire Business Development. Shawn is not only someone who I’m honored to know and call a friend, but who also happens to be one of the best business coaches in Kansas City.

I’ve referred him to a few people along the way and anytime I run into a business that needs strategic thinking and someone to hold them accountable, Shawn is the guy I send them to.

Shawn’s email newsletter (which I also highly recommend you subscribe to) included a section called “Top 25 Quotes For Aspiring Entrepreneurs.”

As I read through them, it reminded me that several months ago, for no real rhyme or reason, I started documenting some of my thoughts. I called them MICnuggets.

Sometimes these thoughts are funny, sometimes they are thought provoking, sometimes they are meant to inspire, and sometimes I have no idea what they may do for people but I throw them out there (usually on Facebook and Twitter) and let the world do with them what it may.

I got to thinking that it might be fun/helpful/inspiring/funny/motivating to share a few of them with all of you that are so supportive of Blue Gurus and our blog.

Below are a few MICnuggets for you to chew on (no honey mustard or ranch included). I offer them without further comment, so do with them what you will.

Also if you have any inspirational thoughts or comments of your own, I’d love to hear them. Comment below or email me at mic@bluegurus.com

Do you remember that person on their death bed reminiscing about 70-80 hour work weeks? #meeither #worklifebalance

Life is full of curve balls. You have four choices. Walk. Strikeout. Get hit by the pitch. Or swing for the fences.

The challenge for GIVERS is finding other GIVERS in a world overflowing with TAKERS.

Only you and the U.S. Mint have the power to make real change.

Perspective: You don’t have to look too far to realize you’ve got it pretty freaking good.

The first step in making something a reality is dreaming it can be possible.

One of the most humbling and rewarding moments in life is when someone says you’ve inspired them.

If you’re patient with the clouds, you’ll be rewarded by the sun.

The best kind of control is the remote.

If you think you have the right to tell me how to live my life, then you surely won’t have a problem paying my mortgage.

Judge the person in the mirror first. If you make it through that, then you’ve earned the right to judge other people.

If your focus is on the mountain in front of you, you’ll miss the scenery along the way.
