Hello friends! My Tech Tip video for this week is all about freezing your credit report at Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Why? Because this will effectively stop bad people from stealing key personal information from you and trying to open up new accounts in your name. Like a Lowe’s credit card. Or buying a new car.

To get a head start, go set up your free account on each of the sites:

And then go to the “Freeze Your Credit” section on each site and turn enable the setting to freeze your credit. It is THAT EASY. And then, when you need to get a new credit card, all you have to do is log back into these sites and unfreeze your credit. I rarely open new lines of credit, so this is no hassle at all. And the peace of mind that somebody can’t open an account under my name is worth the potential hassle of forgetting to unlock my credit before trying to open a new account.

I hope you take the time to watch the video… I have a new outro soundtrack for the last 30 seconds. :)

Thanks for listening to and reading my stories. It means a lot to me. And I hope you find them helpful.
