Three Interesting Things – Nothing Ear Buds, Retirement Planning, EGO String Trimmer with Line IQ

I wasn’t feeling like making a video today. But I wanted to give you something… so here are three things I love that might improve your life. And that is always my goal with any content I put out… to make you laugh, learn or think. (I am trying different formats for sharing information. This is a traditional blog post, not a YouTube video. 1) Nothing Ear in-ear earbuds – Amazon.com Link

I was having a conversation about travel with a friend recently. He was excited about an upcoming trip to Hawaii, but was also unhappy that his current earbuds only last 2.5 hours before needing to be recharged. If you have shopped for wireless earbuds with noise cancelling lately, you will see $300+ price tags on the Sony and Bose options. (Both of which I own and love.) But I wanted to see if there was a more reasonably priced option that performs well.

The Nothing Ear buds are normally $100 and currently on sale for $80. They have great battery life, decent noise cancellation and good sound. And the case is tiny… be careful not to lose them if you buy a pair. I used them on a recent trip to Europe and got 5-6 hours of movie watching and music listening with noise cancelling enabled. They also fast charge in 10-15 minutes to give you another few hours. These are worth a look if you need some noise cancelling ear buds for trips or walking while listening to music or podcasts.

I am in my mid-50s. I am surrounded by people that are thinking about retirement, have recently retired, and have retired and then gone back to work. I have been watching content from the three channels listed above for the last couple of years. There is a TON of good content here. I’ve learned a lot about financial planning. I have also learned a lot about the pitfalls of transitioning into retirement. And this content has also made me more confident in the planning my wife and I are doing for our eventual retirement, and how we are going to enter that phase of our lives successfully and happily.

3) EGO String Trimmer with Line IQ – Amazon.com Link

We are well into summer. And regardless of the rain or the brutally hot sun we have to look forward to, I still love mowing the lawn and edging. There is something Zen about going back and forth cutting straight lines, getting some exercise and getting some sun. I also love a completed job, and it takes me less than an hour to do my lawn and edging. Part of that equation is having the right tools. I use EGO electric tools (available at Amazon.com, Lowe’s and Ace Hardware).

EGO has developed a string trimmer that automatically feeds the line when necessary. Can you believe that? No more bumping. It’s surprising how much of a difference that makes when you are trimming. I love my new trimmer and it’s worth a look. I love the entire ecosystem of EGO products. I also bought their new battery powered pressure washer that can do 2,900 psi pressure washing on batteries… just need a water source. (And you can use a 5 gallon bucket of water if you don’t have a spigot nearby.)
