Hello friends! It’s time for another roundup of 3 Interesting Things (3IT). As you know if you have been following my content for a while, I am trying to make you aware of things that might improve your personal or professional life in some way. My blogging efforts are to make a positive difference for as many people as I can. And a lot of times, people love my “recommended things”, so here we go.
In the past, I’ve shared keyboard shortcuts with people for adjusting your application windows across your screen (or multiple screens.) In case you missed it, the WINDOW key in conjunction with the arrow keys allows you to move the active window around your desktop.
With the introduction of Windows 11, there is now a nifty docking feature at the top middle of your monitor. All you have to do to start the process is drag an active window towards the top of one of your screens. The cursor needs to be near the middle of the screen. When you do it correctly, you will see something similar to the screenshot below. Simply drop your active window in the layout type closest to what you want and Windows will do the rest to resize and position your active window into that area.

I have always been a big fan of the Anker brand of power banks, cables and more. They recently released a 25,000mAh charger with THREE 100 watt USB-C ports. This thing also has built-in, retractable cables and is flight approved in terms of power capacity. It provides fast charging and is strong enough to recharge power hungry devices like large iPhone and Android phones or a MacBook laptop.
You can buy it on Amazon right now for $110 (normally $135). And in case you were wondering, that is NOT an affiliate link. I get nothing if you buy one. I think it is important for people to be transparent when recommending a product with a link to purchase.
There are a few things I love about this power bank. Having 3 cables built in are fantastic. And most devices have moved, or are moving to the USB-C standard. I don’t have to remember extra cables… I simply need to bring the power bank along. There is also an LED display on this device that shows you which ports are connected and how much power is being sent to each connected device. It’s great tech that is perfect for a big vacation.

I was at a board meeting recently when I was asked to be the board secretary. Of course I said yes. But I also knew that hand writing meeting notes, or typing on a laptop during the meeting would be so retro. My good friend, David Strickland, is also on the board. He got out his phone, turned on Wave and hit the record button. After a two hour meeting, he sent out the AI meeting notes that Wave had compiled.
The results of an AI note taker are fantastic. The level of detail is amazing. The entire meeting was transcribed… and then the AI created an excellent summary of key discussion points and action items. Wave.co is $99/year currently, but if you are regularly involved in meetings, it shouldn’t be hard to justify that expense. For me, I am able to focus more on what is being talked about instead of frantically trying to scribble or type what is being talked about. (Thanks David for the recommendation!)

I hope one of these three things was helpful. Please let me know via the usual methods. I appreciate you being on this journey with me. THANK YOU for taking the time to read what I am trying to put out there for you. Hugs and high fives!
